Biography

Jen Dufau (née Lange; b. 1995), is an American artist creating philosophical and religious symbolism paintings that transform nature scenes into meditations on life. She initially pursued a career in speech-language pathology, obtaining her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree from The University of Cincinnati. As a clinician, she has worked with people during very tragic moments in their lives; hearing stories of loss, faith, heroism, and perseverance. Jen’s paintings became a natural way to contemplate how trying times can lead to spiritual growth.

Her unique artistic style evolved through years of independent study using oils and acrylics with a focus on painting nature scenes. Over time, her artwork has incorporated greater amounts of symbolism to share a spiritual message with each piece.

Jen currently pursues independent avenues for showcasing her paintings with collectors throughout the American Midwest and in Europe. Her work can primarily be seen at local art fairs near her home in Cincinnati, OH, social media, and through her website.

Jen is married with a son and pet corgi. When she isn’t painting, she enjoys spending time in nature where she gets most of the inspiration for her paintings.

Artist statement

Exploring the themes of faith, introspection, and spiritual connection, my paintings weave metaphors and religious symbolism into nature scenes to portray man’s spiritual journey through the natural world to the divine.
